Nominate your best friends (or worst enemies) to kiss a pig

Renegade Paws Rescue is a local nonprofit dedicated to saving neglected, abandoned, and stray animals (and yes, pigs!) in the greater Savannah area.

Since our founding in 2019, we have saved over 3,000+ animals through adoption and community care. Now, we have a chance to purchase a building and save even more buy purchasing a building that is absolutely perfect for our mission.

By participating in this fundraiser, you are helping us do just that.

Donate any amount you wish and nominate your Vet Office AND person you want to kiss a pig in the subject line of the donation. Your donation can be anonymous, but you MUST fill out the subject line so we know who which office has raised the most. At the end of the competition, the nominee with the most donations to his/her name will kiss Piggy Smalls, our current hooved ham.

All contributions will go towards our capital campaign to purchase a building this winter. Please check out our website to learn more: https://www.renegadepawsrescue.org/roofforrenegade

This new building could save THOUSANDS more lives in the Savannah area.

Our latest update:

Now that we are officially under contract we can share LOTS more information with you. I caveat this by saying PLEASE do not harrass or bother the current building owners. They are lovely people and we are so grateful for what they've done.

The property is located at 2357 Ogeechee Road. It is currently used as a dog boarding business. We plan to assume that business.

Commercial real estate is not like residential real estate and unfortunately the certainty that comes with a pre-approval for a home is not a thing in this world.

Our initial numbers told us we would need to put approximately 150k down. When the lenders dug into our finances and those of the sellers, they did not feel comfortable lending so much. We had an extended due dilligence to figure this out. Now, instead of the lender being willing to loan 80% of the purchase price, they are only willing to loan 50%.

We have had our numbers checked by some amazing high-profile lenders and real estate professionals. All have given us a "thumbs up" in terms of our estimates and the deal we may get. Unfortunately, because we are so new, we cannot get more of a loan without an extremely large guarantor.

We have raised almost 250k in pledges and donations so far. To sustain operations AND make it to the closing table, we need to raise 189k more by January 9th.

THIS IS A LOT. But we never expected to raise 250k, so who knows what amazing things could happen.

We are currently in conversation with some extremely generous donors and people who may be able to provide large loans. We have already had one incredibly large donor thanks to a wonderful Renegade foster who reached out to people she knew.

I promise we are sharing as much as we possibly can with everyone as quickly as we can legally.

In large non-profits, you would have entire legal, accounting and marketing teams to do this work. Here, you have a dozen unpaid volunteers working this after our day jobs because we believe in this GRASSROOTS organization.

I hope this helps inform and educate. We have spreadsheets on spreadsheets if anyone wants a more detailed breakdown. Please don't hesitate to reach out.
